Aerogel coating is for Thermal Insulation. It is Water-Resistant, meaning it will not swell, soften, or peel off when submerged in water. However, it is not a primary waterproofing membrane. Raw aerogel powder is Class A1 (non-combustible). However, an aerogel coating typically reaches Class B1 (Flame Retardant) due to the organic emulsions needed for flexibility.
