Description

Aerogel Thermal Insulation Coating: Seamless Security for Complex Industrial Systems

Hebei Woqin’s Aerogel Thermal Insulation Coating is a revolutionary liquid insulation solution engineered for environments where traditional blankets and panels cannot reach. By utilizing advanced nanoporous silica aerogel technology, we have developed a high-adhesion coating with a certified thermal conductivity of 0.032 W/m.K. This product is the gold standard for seamless protection, especially for complex-shaped valves, flanges, and high-temperature industrial equipment.

Core Technical Advantages

Exceptional Insulation: With a tested thermal conductivity of 0.032 W/m.K, a thin coating thickness of only 0.5-2mm can achieve several times the insulation effect of traditional insulation materials while remaining significantly lighter in weight.

Anti-Scalding & Personnel Protection: Specifically designed to reduce the surface temperatures of high-heat pipes and equipment. It ensures superior personnel safety and meets international industrial safety standards.

Seamless Application Efficiency: Easily applied by brushing or spraying. It forms a continuous and dense coating after drying, avoiding the joint heat loss problems common with traditional insulation materials.

Superior CUI Prevention & Hydrophobicity: With a surface contact angle reaching over 120°, our hydrophobic coating prevents moisture absorption, effectively eliminating Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI).

High-Temperature Resistance: Capable of withstanding operating temperatures from -200°C to 650°C (depending on the formula), making it suitable for extreme industrial and construction fire protection requirements.

Aerogel Coating: Professional FAQ Guide

Q1: Why isn't lower thermal conductivity always better for Aerogel Coatings?

A: Because balance is key. If conductivity is too low, the coating’s strength and adhesion will suffer. For building applications, a conductivity of 0.034-0.038 W/m·K is the "Golden Range." It ensures excellent insulation while maintaining the structural integrity and 20-year durability of the coating.

Q2: Why does some aerogel coating crack? Does thicker mean better?

A: Cracking is a formula issue, not an aerogel issue. A professional-grade coating should handle 2-3mm (even up to 5mm) in a single layer without cracking. For insulation, thicker isn't always better; aerogel works by blocking conduction, convection, and radiation simultaneously. For walls, 2-3mm is the most cost-effective "sweet spot."

Q3: Is the coating waterproof and anti-corrosive?

A: No. Aerogel coating’s core job is thermal insulation. It cannot replace professional waterproof or anti-corrosion coatings. Water-resistant and Waterproof are different—our coating won't swell or peel off even after being submerged in water, but you must still apply proper base layers for specialized waterproofing.

Q4: Is aerogel coating fireproof?

A: Most aerogel coatings use organic emulsions (for flexibility), meaning they typically reach Class B1 (Flame Retardant) rather than Class A1 (Non-combustible). We can customize the fire rating based on your needs, but beware of anyone claiming a generic aerogel coating is "Class A1"—they are likely confusing the raw powder with the final coating.

Q5: Should I apply it on the Interior or Exterior wall?

A: It depends on your goal. Exterior application is for heat insulation (keeping heat out, ideal for hot climates); Interior application is for heat retention (keeping heat in, ideal for cold climates). Because it's a new material, interior or rooftop projects are often easier to approve and provide an immediate, huge boost in comfort and energy savings.

Q6: How can I tell real aerogel coating from fake? What about the price?

A: Real aerogel coating is expensive because the raw materials are high-end. A reasonable retail price is around $12-$17 per kg (80-120 RMB). To spot a fake: Check the density. Real coating has a density 0.5 g/cm³ (1kg≈2 Liters). If it's heavy, it’s not real aerogel. Also, verify the thermal conductivity reports from 3rd-party labs.

Q7: Is it eco-friendly? What is the service life?

A: Yes, high-quality aerogel coating is VOC-free and zero-formaldehyde, making it extremely safe for indoor use. While the material is designed to last 20+ years, its real-world lifespan depends on the entire system—including the quality of the primer, topcoat, and professional application.

Q8: How does aerogel coating prevent Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI)?

A: Traditional insulation blankets leave a gap where moisture can condense. Our coating bonds directly to the substrate, leaving no air gap and providing a hydrophobic barrier that solves the root cause of CUI.

Q9: What is the recommended application method for complex valves?

A: For irregular components, we recommend high-pressure airless spraying or brushing to ensure every corner is seamlessly covered, eliminating thermal bridges.

Q10: Can this coating withstand extreme weather?

A: Yes. The inorganic silica aerogel base is highly stable, UV-resistant, and maintains its insulation performance even in humid or oily environments.
